Paul Velonis moves to Executive Chairman of Elabor8, and welcomes John Sullivan as CEO

Since our inception in 2009, Elabor8 has set a trajectory to become a modern management consultancy. We are excited to announce the next step in that journey, with the news that John Sullivan has joined the Elabor8 team as our first CEO.

His appointment will free co-founder Paul Velonis to transition from Managing Director to the role of Executive Chairman of the Elabor8 board. While continuing to play an active role in the business, Paul will be working closely with John to guide and execute the company’s strategic vision and next phase of growth.

The establishment of a chief executive office role within Elabor8 is a reflection of the rapid growth that we have seen over the past 12 months, including the doubling of our consulting team and the expansion of our presence to cover the Eastern Seaboard.

“My role is ultimately about steering the team through its next phase of growth. I believe in providing pathways for people to grow and succeed, with the aim of building a stronger IT sector to support the expansion and evolution of Australia’s business community,” says John.

As a pioneer in the Agile cultural revolution in Australia, John is well placed to achieve this goal, having used the underlining principles to radically transform organisations like MYOB, Jetstar and Sensis, where he built Australia’s first large scale agile product delivery team.

It was at Sensis that all three of Elabor8’s founders first worked with John, and we are confident he joins us not only with strong working relationships already in place, but with an aligned set of cultural values including the importance of investing in our team.
